Main Page
Welcome to the Accessibility Wiki!
This website is under construction and is in a private state. If you're reading this, it is likely we have requested your help to make it better. What follows is a brief description of the website and its purpose:
Accessibility for blind people is a rather obscure topic, with information on various accessibility topics being scattered all over the internet. The goal of the accessibility Wiki is to aggregate this information in one central place. Think of this website as the Wikipedia for accessibility information.
What's Covered here?
Anything related to accessibility, including the best/worst locations for a blind person to move to, accessible and inaccessible technologies and software, advocacy organizations for people with visual impairments, and much more can be covered here.

Star Rating and Reviews System
We would like to have a star-rating and review system on a majority of our pages. The purpose of this system is not to rate the pages themselves, but rather to rate the products, places, and companies/organizations talked about on the page. For example, if you are reading an article about Wake County, North Carolina, you will want to know what people have to say about it. To that end, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you should see something like this: “
Ratings and Reviews
Wake County has a total rating of 3 stars, and people have left a total of 2 reviews.

I hate Raleigh, and I’m never coming back here again. Constant potholes all over every street, transit is always super late or super early, and in general it’s just a miserable cesspit of filth. I’d rather go to an abandoned warehouse and search for a notice on display at the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’ rather than ever coming back to this county again.

The writer of this section has not walked around the city of Raleigh enough times to understand how it is actually organized. This was merely a scenario to demonstrate how the review system is intended to function in the future.
Broadening Our Horizons
Currently, this wiki aims to provide information on accessibility for blind and visually impaired people. However, we are considering the possibility of branching out to provide information for people with different disabilities, such as hearing and motor difficulties.
