=== The Solution === The most optimal solution would be for the government of whatever jurisdiction one is a part of to prioritize the development and maintenance of their public infrastructure. This means building sidewalks, crosswalks, bus systems, and train systems to facilitate easier transportation without requiring cars. This not only gives blind people the means to travel safely, but it brings more convenience and safety to sighted travelers as well. Studies show that pedestrian injuries and casualties by vehicle drop by up to 80% in areas with proper sidewalks and crosswalks. People travel more frequently when given fair and safe opportunities to do so. Better infrastructure also results in more businesses and education centers in those areas, resulting in more academic success and job opportunities for people who may not have had those opportunities
